Nation's Largest Business Federation Backs Smullen in NY-21 Republican Primary
GLOVERSVILLE, New York (June 4, 2026) – The Robert Smullen for Congress campaign today announced that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Robert Smullen in the Republican primary for New York's 21st Congressional District. The Chamber, the nation's largest business federation representing millions of businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region, selected Smullen as its endorsed candidate ahead of the June 23 primary.
Countless local businesses in New York’s 21st District as well as local Chambers of Commerce are members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The endorsement reflects Smullen's strong record of fighting for lower taxes, less regulation, and policies that put job creators first. As a current New York State Assemblyman and Chairman of the NY Assembly Republican Conference, Smullen has consistently supported pro-growth policies that allow small businesses to invest, hire, and compete.
“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to endorse Robert Smullen for New York’s 21st Congressional District. A retired Marine Corps Colonel and current New York State Assemblyman, Robert Smullen is a tested leader who knows how to deliver results,” said Stephen McAllister, Vice President of the Eastern Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “He will bring pro-growth policies and Upstate New York values to Washington, and we look forward to working with him to create new opportunities for communities, families, and small businesses throughout the region and across the country.”
