New York State Troopers PBA Endorses Robert Smullen for Congress in Major NY-21 Endorsement

GLOVERSVILLE, New York – The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers has endorsed Assemblyman Robert Smullen in his campaign for Congress in New York’s 21st Congressional District.

The New York State Troopers PBA represents more than 7,000 active and retired uniformed members of the New York State Police. Their endorsement reflects strong support from the men and women who serve on the front lines to protect communities across New York State.

Smullen, a retired Marine Corps Colonel who has represented Upstate New York in the State Assembly since being elected in 2018, has built a record of consistently backing law enforcement, opposing efforts to defund or weaken police, and fighting to restore accountability in New York’s criminal justice system.

“I am honored to have the support of the New York State Troopers PBA and the thousands of troopers they represent,” said Smullen. “I back the blue. Our state troopers, local police officers, and corrections officers put themselves in harm’s way every day to keep our communities safe. In Congress, I will stand for law and order, fight to ensure law enforcement has the resources they need, and push back against policies that embolden criminals and make our streets less safe.”

The Troopers PBA endorsement adds to growing support for Smullen across the district. He has already earned the endorsement of the New York State Conservative Party and will appear on the ballot in November as the party’s presumptive nominee.

At the local level, Smullen has secured the backing of 11 of the 15 Republican county committees in New York’s 21st Congressional District, representing approximately two-thirds of the weighted voting population in the Republican primary. Those endorsements include:

  • Essex County Republican Committee
  • Franklin County Republican Committee
  • Fulton County Republican Committee
  • Hamilton County Republican Committee
  • Herkimer County Republican Committee
  • Jefferson County Republican Committee
  • Lewis County Republican Committee
  • Schoharie County Republican Committee
  • St. Lawrence County Republican Committee
  • Warren County Republican Committee
  • Washington County Republican Committee

He has also earned support from key Conservative Party organizations across the district, including:

  • Herkimer County Conservative Committee
  • Oneida County Conservative Committee
  • St. Lawrence County Conservative Party
  • Warren County Conservative Committee

Smullen’s campaign continues to build a broad coalition of grassroots activists, conservative leaders, and public safety advocates focused on restoring law and order, securing the border, defending constitutional rights, and putting Upstate First.
