More Local Leaders Endorse Robert Smullen for Congress
County Board Chairmen, Town Supervisors, and Local Officials Unite Behind Smullen to Represent NY-21
GLOVERSVILLE, New York (June 5, 2026) – Robert Smullen, Republican candidate for New York's 21st Congressional District, today announced a wave of endorsements from more local elected officials across many counties in the district.
"These are the leaders who know their communities best – and they're putting their names behind this campaign because they know we need a fighter in Washington," said Smullen. Washington County: Bob Henke, Chairman of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, has endorsed Smullen for Congress.
Essex County: Clayton Menser, Town Supervisor of Crown Point, has endorsed Smullen for Congress.
Clinton County: County Legislators Calvin Castine (Area 1), Francis Peryea (Area 2, Vice Chairman of the Clinton County Legislature), Kevin Randall (Area 5), and Jennifer Facteau-Rabideau (Area 6), along with Town Supervisors Brady Smart of Altona, Tom Trombley of Champlain, Joey Varin of Dannemora, Jason Dezan of Ellenburg, Jeff Menard of Mooers, Craig Randall of Peru, Timothy Napper of Saranac, and Mindy Smith of Schuyler Falls, as well as Town Councilmen Mark Sand of Beekmantown, Bill Rhino of Black Brook, and Melvin Irwin of Peru.
Fulton County: Joe DiGiacomo, Supervisor from the Town of Broadalbin and Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Supervisors, has endorsed Smullen for Congress.
St. Lawrence County:
Larry Denesha, Vice Chairman of the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators, has endorsed Smullen for Congress.
With more endorsements from the counties of the 21st Congressional District, Smullen continues to build the broadest coalition of local support in the 21st Congressional District ahead of the June 23rd Republican primary.
About Robert Smullen
Robert Smullen is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel, conservative reformer, and trusted public servant representing New York's 118th Assembly District. A native Upstate New Yorker and graduate of The Citadel, he served 24 years in the Marine Corps, including three combat tours in Afghanistan, and later helped shape national defense strategy at the Pentagon. Robert was appointed a White House Fellow during his time in the Marines and was later appointed by President Donald J. Trump to the President's Commission on White House Fellows. In Albany, he is a leading conservative voice, currently serving as Chairman of the Assembly Republican Conference. He is now running for Congress in New York's 21st Congressional District with the endorsement of the New York State Conservative Party, the New York State Republican Party, every Republican Member of the New York Assembly, and 12 of 15 Republican county committees in the district.
