Desperate, Lifelong Democrat Anthony Constantino Launches Defamatory Website as Campaign Collapses
Lifelong Democrat Anthony Constantino Spends Millions to Spread Lies Because He Cannot Run on His Own Record
GLOVERSVILLE, New York (May 26, 2026) – After pouring more than $7 million of his own money into a failing campaign, lifelong Democrat Anthony Constantino has launched a defamatory website attacking retired Marine Colonel Robert Smullen – a desperate attempt to distract voters from the most disqualifying record of any Republican candidate in the country.
Every claim on Constantino's website is false and defamatory. This is not opposition research. It is a multi-million-dollar disinformation campaign funded by a man who cannot win a Republican primary on his own merits and has chosen to buy one instead.
"After putting in $7 million of his own money, lifelong Democrat Anthony Constantino is desperately trying to distract voters from the fact that he is the most flawed Republican candidate in the country. His website is full of lies,” Robert Smullen said. “Every claim on it is false and defamatory. The truth is Anthony Constantino is a lifelong Democrat who praised the violent George Floyd riots as cities burned, he called our cops racists and murderers, and he even sold 'Kill the Police' stickers on his own website. He's had tax liens in three states, is the subject of a Federal Election Commission complaint, fired workers and replaced them with robots, and surrounded himself with a man accused of murder as well as another who admitted to child molestation and another convicted of fraud. He has refused five invitations to debate because he cannot defend his record in public. No amount of money can cover up who he really is, and the voters of NY-21 are too smart to be fooled by a lifelong liberal Democrat trying to buy a congressional seat."
The facts voters deserve to know about Anthony Constantino:
- Anthony Constantino is a lifelong Democrat who only registered as a Republican to run for this seat.
- He is dangerously anti-police: He praised the George Floyd riots that burned cities to the ground while calling our cops racists, murderers and called for them to be fired without cause. His website also sold a sticker that read "KILL THE POLICE." These are not the values of NY-21 – and they are certainly not the values of a Republican.
- He sold antisemitic and anti-police merchandise through his company, Sticker Mule. A sticker reading "The Jews Did This" was sold on his platform and appeared at a gas station in Ohio. It was only removed after the organization StopAntisemitism called it out publicly. He is a lifelong Democrat running as a Republican. Constantino's own voter registration history confirms years of Democratic Party enrollment. His business organizations have deep ties to Democratic donors and causes.
- He had tax liens in Kansas, Ohio, and Wyoming – a troubling pattern for someone asking voters to trust him with federal tax policy. This is a fact never retracted by Robert Smullen’s campaign despite Constantino falsely claiming so.
- He is the subject of a Federal Election Commission complaint raising serious questions about the legality of his campaign's financial activity.
- He fired workers and replaced them with robots, then asked those same working families to vote for him.
- The people he surrounds himself with tell voters everything they need to know. Constantino's campaign employed a petition gatherer who misrepresented himself to Republican voters and had a prior conviction for petition fraud.
- His campaign employed an individual accused of murder in Nevada until earlier this year.
- Another employee is a child molester.
- Yet another was arrested for stealing from a Little League ball team. This is who Anthony Constantino trusts with his campaign.
- He has refused five debate invitations, denying voters the chance to hear both candidates side by side. If his campaign had substance, he would not be hiding from public forums and spending millions on personal attacks instead.

Robert Smullen served 24 years in the United States Marine Corps, including multiple combat deployments. He served at the Pentagon shaping defense policy for our nation. He currently serves as a New York State Assemblyman and Chairman of the Assembly Republican Conference. His endorsements come from conservative organizations and working families across the district – not from a personal checking account.
"I have spent my entire life in service to this country and this community," said Smullen. "My opponent has spent his trying to buy influence. Voters will see through a desperate website funded by a desperate candidate with a record he cannot defend. And I’ll say it again – Anthony Constantino is unfit to serve."
